Wall Painting Services in Dubai, From One Wall to Every Room

Walls show everything: holes left by a TV mount, a grey patch under the AC, marker drawings in the children's room, or a bold colour you no longer like. SWEFIX provides wall painting services for apartments, villas and offices across Dubai, starting with the condition of each wall rather than just the colour. We repair what is underneath, choose a primer that suits the surface, and finish with clean lines at the ceiling and skirting. Send us the rooms or walls you want painted and we will arrange a free visit to measure and quote.

Walls We Paint

The job can be as small as one wall or as large as every room in the property:

  • Single walls: A new colour behind the sofa or bed, or one damaged wall brought back to match the room.
  • Full rooms: Walls repainted together so the colour and sheen are even all the way round.
  • Gypsum partition walls: New or repaired partitions sealed and painted after our gypsum team finishes the joints.
  • Hallways and stairwells: The walls that collect the most scuffs and handprints.
  • Ceilings: Painted at the same time when a colour change or stain would otherwise make the ceiling look dull against fresh walls.
  • Feature colours: Accent walls in solid colours; for textures and special finishes see decorative painting.

Common Wall Problems and How We Fix Them

Most paint failures start with a problem that was painted over instead of fixed. These are the issues we see most often in Dubai homes:

Villa Surfaces That Need Different Treatment

Problem

Usual cause

What we do before painting

Holes and loose plugs

Old TV mounts, shelves and picture hooks

Remove fixings, fill, sand flush and spot-prime

Grey or brown patch near the AC

Condensation or a dripping drain line

Fix the drip first, then seal the stain with a stain-blocking primer

Paint peeling in sheets

New paint applied over glossy or chalky old paint

Scrape back, sand, and use an adhesion primer

Visible lines on partition walls

Gypsum board joints that were not taped or filled properly

Re-tape and fill the joints so they disappear under paint

Marker, crayon or smoke marks

Everyday use

Clean, then cover with a stain-blocking primer so marks do not bleed through

Cracks at door and window corners

Normal building movement

Open, fill with a flexible filler and sand smooth

Matching the Primer and Paint to the Wall

Different wall surfaces need a different start. Using one product for everything is why some fresh walls look patchy within weeks:

  • New gypsum board: Absorbs paint unevenly, so it needs a sealer coat first.
  • Plastered block walls: Need full curing and a suitable primer before topcoats.
  • Previously glossy or oil-painted walls: Need sanding and an adhesion primer, or the new coat will peel.
  • Stained or smoke-marked walls: Need a stain-blocking primer, since normal paint lets marks show through.
  • Dark walls going light: Need a tinted undercoat to avoid extra topcoats.

Topcoats are low-VOC interior paints from brands such as Jotun, Dulux, Nippon and Sigma.

Many tenancy contracts in Dubai expect walls to be handed back in their original condition, often plain white. If you painted feature walls or left marks from furniture and fixings, repainting before the final inspection can help avoid deductions from your deposit.

  • Check your contract and move-in report for the original colour and condition.
  • Allow extra coats when covering dark or bright colours with white.
  • Book the painting before the inspection date, with time for the walls to dry and any touch-ups.
  • Fill fixings at the same visit, so holes from TV mounts and shelves are not missed.

What a Well-Painted Wall Should Look Like

At handover, we check every wall with you against these points. You can use the same list to judge any painter's work:

  • Straight, clean lines where the wall meets the ceiling, skirting and door frames
  • No roller marks or patchy areas when you look along the wall with light from the side
  • Filled holes and cracks that cannot be seen or felt
  • An even sheen across the whole wall, with no shiny or dull patches
  • Switches, sockets, floors and furniture free of paint splashes

How Wall Painting Is Priced

Our wall painting services are priced by the area painted and the work needed before painting, so we measure on site before quoting. A single wall usually costs more per square foot than a full room, because setup, protection and clean-up take similar time either way. Repairs, special primers and dark-to-light colour changes add to the price. For current painting rates, see our painting services page.

Why Choose SWEFIX for Wall Painting in Dubai

    • The fix and the finish together: AC drips, loose gypsum joints and damaged sockets can be sorted by our own trades before the wall is painted.
    • Primer chosen for the surface: Each wall is assessed instead of applying the same product everywhere.
    • Swedish attention to detail: Clean cutting-in, careful filling and a tidy site at the end of every day.
    • Clear quotations: The walls, repairs and number of coats are written into the quote.

Wall Painting FAQs

It is usually better to remove it. Paint can loosen the paste, so the paper bubbles or peels, and seams show through the new colour. We strip the wallpaper, repair the surface underneath and prime it before painting.

Light pictures can go back once the paint is dry to the touch, usually the next day. For heavy items such as TV mounts and shelves, wait about two weeks so the paint has hardened and is less likely to crack around the new fixings.

Wait a few weeks before cleaning. Then use a soft sponge with water and a little mild soap, test on a hidden spot first, and avoid scrubbing pads and strong cleaners, which can leave shiny patches on matte paint.

Not straight away. Mould comes back through paint unless the cause is fixed. We find the moisture source, such as a leak or poor ventilation, clean and treat the affected area, let it dry, and then prime and paint.

With low-VOC paints and good ventilation, many people use the room the same night, though a light smell may remain for a day or two. For babies or anyone with breathing sensitivities, keeping the room empty overnight with windows open or the AC running is the safer choice.
